To be honest, the reason I haven’t posted a new show in a while is that i wasn’t so excited about what is going on in Paris. It seems as though all of the designers have decided to take the “recession” route and stick to basic black and simple lines. In general, all of the shows have been too serious for my liking. Thankfully, there were two great shows over the last few days that I figured I’d share with you. First, there was Emanuel Ungaro. Amid all the black, the pinks and metallics at this show really stood out. I really loved the models’ silvery shoes over black opaque tights. There were lots of full, high waisted skirts (something I’m craving for spring) and menswear blazers to balance out the femininity. The pink structured party dresses were also a big hit.
There was a definite elegance about the fall 09 Christian Lacroix show. Everything was very pretty; from the lace and floral tights to the long black gloves and crinoline dresses. The girls all looked so cozy though with ruffles and fur around their necks! The makeup fit perfectly, featuring bold red lips and subtle eyes.
